Wiki Page Editing DocumentationDocumentation
28.1.2022
Documentation for editing a mystral or fandom wiki page. Note that there might be some missing features, depending on which application you're using.
Use the slider at the top of the page to switch to the detailed editing page, or to remain on the simple one.
On mystral, you also have the "auto-link" slider, allowing you to turn auto-linking on and off.
Header Information
Page Name. Required The full title of the article. Short Name. Optional[default: Page Name]
A shorter title, displayed in thumbnails and suchlike.
Root. Optional Click in the field to view suggestions; the actual root is displayed immediately above it. The root defines the article's position in the wiki superstructure.
Categories. Optional Click in the field to view suggestions; the selected categories are displayed immediately above it. Click a category to remove it. Categories help to order articles in more detail than genres, and can be used as search criteria.
Genre. Optional [default: Lore]
The genre sets the kind of article, and is very useful alongside the title for getting a quick idea.
Banner. Optional [default: Fandom / Current]
Banners are displayed at the top of the article page, and serve as default thumbnail image if no sidetab image is supplied. The default value for new articles can be set in the wiki settings.
Sidetab
This information will be displayed in a side tab on the right of the article. If there is no title and body, it will not be displayed.
Titling. OptionalTakes Markdown This text will be displayed in the sidetab above all other content. Dates. Optional Enter the cornerstone dates of the article here. For basic information, write the year in basic numeric fashion (no words, so 2020 for 2020 AD or -42 for 42 BC). Alternatively, use comma syntax, eg.2nd of February ,2022
or 5.2.,-56
to use dates more precise than the basic year.
Image. Optional A direct link, hosted somewhere on the internet, to the side tab's image. It will be displayed below title and dates, and just above the body text. Thumbnails will use this picture.
Body text. OptionalTakes Markdown This text will be displayed in the sidetab below all other content.
Body
Body. RequiredTakes Markdown The main content of the article.Additional Information
Sources (Footnotes). OptionalTakes Markdown Click on the plus to add a source, on the minus to remove one. Write source information in the input fields; this does take links, so you can hyperlink to sources as well. Add footnotes in the content with the[X]
syntax.
NSFW level. Optional [default: SFW]
If the article contains explicit content, it can be flagged as limited or full NSFW. The limited flag adds a tag as a warning that there might be some offensive content, but there is no strong graphic content. Full NSFW censors the thumbnail image, warns a user before allowing them to view content, and adds a red warning tag to the page.
Search details. Optional [only moderators]
The first line is a comma-separated list of query tags that represent alternative names to the article that are not featured in the name and short name. There should be no spaces in between commas and the next tag. The second, importance input should be a number, usually between 0-5 but possibly up to 99, that represents the article's importance - its prominence in searches, mainly.
