The night elves, called Elle'Nūr in the Feywild, were a humanoid fey race. They were known as "evil": they lived in the Feydark and were known to commit cruelties.

Disambiguation

"Night elves" were not actually part of the elven race, but were often confused as an elven subrace, due notably to their similarity with moon and especially dark elves. They did share their ancestor with elvenkind.

Physiology

Elle'Nūr were humanoids with fey-like features, including some nimbleness and stealth, although they were squatter than elves. They had black or violet skin, with patches of brown or white fur on locations such as their spine, forearms, and side of the legs. Their eyes were pitch black with radiating red or yellow pupils. They had sharp but rounded features, with very large and furry ears. Their heads had hair, often of a different color than the rest of their body hair.

Night elves had some of the best darkvision, allowing them to see up to 100 meters in pitch darkness. In fact, many Elle'Nūr could be seriously damaged from being in direct sunlight for longer periods of time.

Many Elle'Nūr were rather finely attuned to the Feywild's Feydark fugue, and could cast spells relating to darkness, psychological and physical pain, and invisibility.

Variations

Mauna-leule. Some Elle'Nūr had light skin, usually some very white shade of pink or violet. Their ears had a more winged aspect, and their eyes were white, with radiating white-yellow irises and pupils. In contrast to standard Elle'Nūr, their skin was also very smooth and matte.

Only female Elle'Nūr could become Mauna-leule, which was a recessive X-tied condition.
