Night Elves

Goblinoids, sometimes called Goblinkind, were a humanoid race with fey ancestry. They were known for being evil and abusive, but often formed well-structured societies that faced challenges other races would have failed at. Goblinkind was unique for the great variation of its four subraces and how well they managed to work together and form groups of great power.

Origins

All three goblinoid races developed out of Elle-Nür in the Feywild. They were born at different times and in different regions, and managed to each receive patron gods. However, they were not a united race, and often were little more than small Feydark tribes, or servants of greater evil forces. Eventually, however, the different groups of gods merged into a strained alliance, forming the Dren-Ylk pantheon. This didn't last very long, however: a fierce warrior god from Ydmechron mercilessly conquered it, destroying most of its members and establishing a new fundament, the Krakkar'Bliet. His forced unity was intransigent, and the three goblinoid races came to look more akin than before.

Thereafter, the goblinoids quickly spread out from their home plane, taking up residence in locations such as the prime material world, Thozeia's battlefields, and Ydmechron.

Biology

Although the four subraces were very varied among each other, they were united by some core characteristics.

Physiology

All goblinoids were humanoids with relatively edgy and square features. Even goblins, the frailest subrace, had a fair amount of muscles. They weren't very mobile, but often could climb well, and could reach high speeds over shorter periods of time. Males and females were physiologically very similar, though women were somewhat less muscular and apt for combat than men.

Nearly all goblinoids had brown to red fur that grew between 2 millimeters to a centimeter, with longer - sometimes black - hair growing on their head and cheeks. Their irises were essentially always black, though some could have yellow or red pupils. They had darkvision to a range of 30 meters, giving them an advantage in their nocturnal life.

Goblinoid features were often described as "beast-like". Their pointed ears, a legacy of their fey ancestry, were thick and furry rather than thin, long and smooth. Additionally, sexual organs and muscles were clearly marked.

Psychology

Goblinkind was unique in its love/hate relationship. All subraces had some need for social belonging, naturally forming bands of at least a few dozen, and often congregating into much larger societies. However, very often, members of society hated a vast majority of the others, and actively competed with them. This was even more marked in relations spanning multiple subraces, where they subjugated one another but sometimes contradictorily showed great loyalty and solidarity to each other.

Society

Goblinoids formed a variety of societies, often based on the savage tribal model. These often depended on the constituent subrace, because each tended to form a certain kind of clan and hierarchy. Hosts of multiple subraces, however, were more standardized because of the imposed nature of goblinoid unity.
